Welcome to CENRs. The Coalition on Environment and Natural Resources is a constellation of CSOs, NGOs, Women’s Organizations, Researchers, Academician, Activist, Student bodies and media groups striving for rights and responsibilities of the indigenous people in the north eastern region. Since its inception in 2012, the coalition has been lobbying and advocating at various levels to ensure peoples rights of land and resources in real sense of term. Apart from awareness drive among the indigenous tribes, it has been disseminating information on the basic rights of local communities, especially among those whose land is being used to extract natural resources.
Apart from these, the coalition concentrates on three areas: Environment and National Resources, Socio-Economic development of affected communities and Women & Natural resources. CENRs always talks of equal participation of local communities, corporate and government in planning and management apart from benefit sharing in a demo- cratic manner which, it believes, a key to sustainable development.

Since its inception, CENRs has been holding a number of meetings with different social organizations, groups, individuals and government departments in quest of a civil society perspective on oil and natural gas. CENRs have a good track record of numerous outreach programs, awareness initiatives, and consultations to disseminate knowledge and information on the oil and natural gas-related issues, land and environment. These are apart from the Coalition modest venture to hold training and workshop on capacity building for its members and the local communities facing direct impact of oil and gas exploration and other extractives agenda.
